Many people look out at what’s happening in the world today and see prophecies in bible scriptures getting closer to becoming reality. Take the turmoil in the Mideast, for example. The Bible predicts that the end of the world will start there, when the “Israelites return to Zion” – an event that crystalized in 1947.
Prophecies in Bible passages tell of great turmoil, plagues, wars, upheavals and more. These events portend the end of the world as we know it, the rise of the Antichrist and his eventual defeat by Jesus Christ. There have been wars aplenty in the past century, including two World Wars, and the wars in the Persian Gulf, Iraq and Afghanistan, to name just a few. What about plagues? Take your pick! Consider the recent development of AIDS, SARS, Lyme’s Disease and more. Massive earthquakes have recently struck Haiti and Japan, the later causing a frightening meltdown of a nuclear power plant.
So the signs are many. Much of what the Bible foretold in prophecy seems to be unfolding right before our eyes.
