Raising Women's Voices is a national initiative to support quality, affordable health care for all. We are working to raise women's voices for the health care we need. Our goal is to engage a broad array of women's health advocates in local, state and national health reform discussions to ensure that women's concerns will be addressed and the health care we get will truly be health care for all.
The Ohio Friends of Midwives is a non-profit, grassroots, consumer-based
organization that supports and promotes midwifery, particularly
direct-entry midwifery, as a quality health care option for Ohio women and
their families. OFOM serves as an educational resource for the public and
those who share an interest in the Midwifery Model of Care. Over 2000 Ohio
families have trusted OFOM to help them achieve their desired birth experience.
We have recently celebrated our 10th anniversary of supporting midwifery in
Ohio! Visit us at our website, now back on line, at www.ofom.org.

We hope to launch our 2008 Public Education Campaign soon! We envision an
Ohio in which women are aware of their option to receive care from a
midwife, understand the Midwifery Model of Care and how it can improve their
birth experience, know the benefit of giving birth out-of-hospital. We
encourage you to join us in our effort to spread the word about midwifery in
2008! To volunteer or become a member today, contact Linda Keller at
linda@ofom.org.

The Big Push for Midwives is a nationally coordinated campaign to advocate for regulation and licensure of Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, and to push back against the attempts of the American Medical Association Scope of Practice Partnership to deny American families access to legal midwifery care. The Big Push Campaign is the first initiative of the National Birth Policy Coalition (NBPC), which is focused on increasing access to the Midwives Model of Care in all settings, as well as supporting legislative initiatives that promote the autonomous practice of professional midwives, which includes Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) and Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs).
