Jessie Anderson is a certified nurse-midwife (CNM) and has been involved in maternal healthcare since 2000. As a CNM she provides health care to women all through life, including: preconception care, prenatal care, birth, care after birth, care for the new baby, annual exams, family planning, menopause, and health counseling. She received training as a nurse-midwife at Clark Memorial Hospital.

She believes that pregnancy and birth are normal life events and should not be treated as medical problems. She is currently doing a hospital based only practice at Clark Memorial Hospital, where intermittent monitoring, laboring without IVs, ambulating during labor, getting in the shower, tub, etc are all supported and encouraged by the staff.

Jessie is in practice with Rebecca Cohen, MD. They hope to open a birth center together within the next few years.

Dr. Cohen is a family practice physician who specializes in women's health and obstetrics. She received training as a direct-entry midwife working in a birth center in El Paso, Texas prior to medical school.

She believes that pregnancy and birth are normal life events and should not be treated as medical problems. She is currently doing a hospital based only practice at Clark Memorial Hospital, where intermittent monitoring, laboring without IVs, ambulating during labor, getting in the shower, tub, etc are all supported and encouraged by the staff.

Dr. Cohen is in practice with Jessie Anderson, CNM. They hope to open a birth center together within the next few years.
